None on Record is Hiring a Program Manager

None on Record is looking for a dynamic, result-oriented individual to take up the position of Programs Manager. The Programs Manager will be the project lead of None on Record’s Cultural Arts Festival and The Media Engagement Project both of which begin in 2015.

None on Record is a digital media organization that that works with LGBTIQ communities across the African continent and in the Diaspora. We focus our work in three areas – digital media and documentation, technology & media training programs and culture & innovation.

About You
The ideal candidate for this position will have experience managing multiple projects. They will be able to plan & organize large events and be conversant with the journalists and media network in Africa. They will be organized, reliable & familiar with the African LGBTIQ arts community and will work closely with our Executive Director and other staff as well as manage a planning committee. The Programs Manager will be based in the Nairobi office.

The Cultural Arts Festival

  • Have overall responsibility for the project
  • Manage a planning committee for an arts project
  • Manage all logistics for the upcoming arts project
  • Locate and book venue, presenters, equipment etc.
  • Source and program project participants
  • Oversee project staff and budget
  • Work with Outreach staff to promote the arts project on social media, etc.

The Media Engagement Program

  • Have overall responsibility for the project
  • Manage contractors
  • Manage all logistics for the convening
  • Work with contractors to source and program project participants
  • Work with outreach staff to promote the project on social media, etc.


  • Ability to manage multiple projects at a time
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Multitasking is necessary as well as the ability to troubleshoot unexpected problems
  • Knowledge of digital media tools and social media platforms
  • Professionalism is a must, with ability to work well under stress and be flexible.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and project management skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to LGBT issues; commitment to NOR’s mission, goals and work
  • A Bachelors degree in communication, law, social sciences, or public policy is preferred
